Pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation and effective April 1, 2015, Employers are required by law to ensure that all Workers successfully complete an approved Working At Heights training program if they are working at a heights and using any of the following methods of fall protection: travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems, safety nets and work or safety belts.
There is a two-year transition period for Workers who, prior to April 1, 2015, met the fall protection training requirements set out in subsection 26.2(1) of the Construction Projects Regulation. The deadline for Workers to complete an approved Working At Heights training program is April 1, 2017. Failure to do so, may result in enforcement by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) which can include fines for both the Employers and Workers, as well as mandatory compliance or stop work orders.

The 1 day (8hr) Working At Heights safety awareness training program includes both a Theory and Practical component and includes all required manuals and equipment. Participants must successfully complete a written Theory test and Practical Skills Demonstration(PSD). Students receive both a wall certificate and wallet card upon successful completion of the course and complimentary
