SAFETY REVIEWS

Whether a small or large company, single or long-term project, Safety Reviews are a critical element of an effective Health & Safety program.  From initial planning to pre-start Team meetings, Safety Reviews form the foundation of a well-designed Health & Safety Plan.  Employees and Supervisors need to know their roles and responsibilities, as well as the potential hazards associated with the job tasks.  This includes outlining project timelines, expectations and priorities.  Most importantly, it requires a defined communication strategy and operational plan, including all safety policies and procedures.

For short-term projects or new consulting services, the first step is conducting a detailed Review and Recommendations of the company's current Health & Safety status, including legislative and corporate policy compliance.

 

 

PROJECT START-UPS

   

A vital step in an effective safety management system is the development of standard project start-up procedures, including checklists, safety meetings and project management plans.

 

 

HAZARD ASSESSMENTS

   

As part of any project start-up or ongoing project management are the establishment of hazard assessment protocols, including identification, controls, education and training, and evaluation, as well as the preparation of all required MSDS sheets.

 

 

JOB HAZARD ANALYSIS

 

Included as part of a comprehensive Health & Safety program, a JHA identifies the hazards associated with specific tasks and includes preventative measures and procedures in controlling the risks to employee safety.

 

 

PRE-START REVIEWS

 

An integral part of a complete Health & Safety program, PSR's must be conducted prior to the introduction and use or modification of any equipment, apparatus, structure, protective element or process.

 

INCIDENT REVIEW COMMITTEE
