  COVID-19 SAFETY

The COVID-19 crisis is an unprecedented community emergency that has affected all sectors and all workplaces.  Further, it has impacted both personal and professional relationships and has significantly changed how people interact with one another.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the coronavirus that first emerged in China in December 2019 and was first diagnosed in Canada in January 2020.COVID-19 symptoms include cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, sore throat, unexplained taste or smell, diarrhea and headaches.Severe cases can negatively impact respiratory function. However, most people who fall ill with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment or intervention. In some cases, it can be severe and even cause death.

COVID-19 can be spread from person to person. It spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It is diagnosed with a laboratory test.Currently, there is no vaccine or treatments for COVID-19.However, there are many clinical trials underway evaluating potential treatments.

Prevention of COVID-19 begins with awareness and staying informed about what causes COVID-19 and how it spreads. This includes taking proactive steps to minimize contact and taking precautions that include frequent hand washing, physical distancing and the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).This also includes having emergency preparedness plans and procedures in place to deal medical incidents of this nature.  Under the Public Health Order all companies, in all sectors, must implement strict Health and Safety protocols.  TOTAL Safety Management is proud to be leading the way in workplace COVID-19 Health and Safety policies and procedures, including:
